Privacy Policy
This policy explains how FieldHalo handles information from customers, installer applicants, listed businesses, administrators, and website visitors.
1. Information we collect
- Account and identity data, including name, email, phone number, authentication identifiers, and administrative role.
- Business and profile data, including company name, website, logo, qualifications, service locations, descriptions, verification evidence, and public-display choices.
- Customer request data, including requested service, location or ZIP code, contact details, notes, and installer matching results.
- Billing data, including plan, subscription status, transaction and invoice identifiers. Payment-card details are collected and processed by Stripe, not stored by FieldHalo.
- Technical and security data, including IP-derived information, device/browser data, timestamps, authentication events, fraud signals, logs, and interaction analytics.
- Communications, support requests, complaints, announcements, and dispute evidence.
2. How we use information
We use information to operate accounts and directory listings; match customers with nearby installers; process applications, verification, subscriptions, and payments; send transactional and operational communications; enforce safety and quality rules; investigate misuse and disputes; improve performance and ranking; comply with law; and protect people, property, and the service.
3. How we share information
Public profile information is displayed according to profile settings. Customer request information may be shared with relevant installers to fulfill the request. We use service providers including Supabase for database and authentication, Vercel for application hosting, Cloudflare for DNS and security, Stripe for billing, Resend for email delivery, and privacy-preserving breached-password screening. Providers process information under their own terms and our instructions where applicable. We may also disclose information when required by law, during a business transaction, or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal information for money.
4. Password screening
When a new password is created, FieldHalo may compare an anonymized five-character hash prefix against the Have I Been Pwned Pwned Passwords service. The password itself and complete password hash are not sent to that service.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use essential authentication and security cookies and limited analytics needed to operate and improve the service. Browser controls may limit nonessential storage, but blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in.
6. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including maintaining accounts, providing services, documenting approvals and disputes, preventing fraud, meeting tax and accounting duties, and enforcing agreements. Retention periods vary by record type. We delete or deidentify information when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to legal holds and backup cycles.
7. Security
We use access controls, encryption in transit, restricted administrative tools, signed payment webhooks, row-level database protections, logging, rate and abuse controls, and password screening. No system can guarantee absolute security. Report suspected unauthorized access promptly.
8. Your choices and rights
You may update profile details in your account, control designated public contact fields, unsubscribe from optional marketing, and request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information. Some records may be retained where legally required or needed for security, billing, or disputes. Depending on your state, additional rights may apply, including appeal rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
9. Children and geographic scope
FieldHalo is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information. The service is currently intended for the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations used by our providers.
10. Changes and contact
We will post changes with a revised effective date and provide additional notice for material changes. Privacy requests and questions may be sent to support@fieldhalo.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
